This is the oldest I’ve ever been!

35.

I’ve only been 35 for less than 24 hours so I can’t tell you what it feels like yet but it seems that a few people think that 35 may be close to pension age. Not mentioning any names *cough*my children*cough*

I was so spoiled today and got everything I asked for – new slippers, sun glasses, Ferrero Rocher chocolates and a SLOW COOKER! Yes, people, I’m yelling. I’m so excited! Don’t get me wrong. I’m not the type of person that is always thrilled to receive appliances as gifts but if it’s something I ask for, then that’s ok ;) The day was even better when the teens made an effort to be home in time for my afternoon tea and all the kisses and cuddles I got.

Oh and my darling sister (who has been dubbed the fancy cake maker in the family, and is the person to go to when you want a cake made, but I haven’t told HER that yet!) made me the most yummy scrummy cherry ripe mud cake with PINK icing. Nom nom nom!

Then after the fabulous afternoon tea with family and friends, I headed in for a bit of pampering. Legs are nicely waxed and the eyebrows are now under control! LOL

I have had the most wonderful day and  I want to thank everyone who sent birthday wishes! You all helped make the day even more special! *Mwah!*

Lovin’ my pressies!

I’m only now getting around to posting about the cool pressies I received from my hubby and kids.

I’ve been playing with my new camera that looks like this:

It sits really nicely in my hand and takes awesome photos, just like the ones that I took to put in the new clock that the kids bought me:

I also got a new pedometer and some new hand weights and a yummy English breakfast in bed. I feel really spoilt this year!

A jungle party!

It was Giorgia’s birthday today and also her jungle-themed birthday party. We sent out these cute invitations that I bought on eBay.

I like buying matching party ware so I got plates, cups and napkins in the same jungle design, again from eBay…noticing a pattern in my shopping for party supplies?

I bought snap bands…you know the ones that are pieces of tape measures covered in fabric? I used them as napkin rings. One major fail was forgetting to buy a table cloth hence the reason the table was covered in yellow polka dots *oops!*

Remember when I mentioned the green cardboard? I was making a frog and leaf banner as well as snakes. Jungle-themed balloons and vines made out of crepe paper were also part of the decorations.

We love pinatas but we don’t love the possibility of accidents with the pinata basher so I buy the pull-down types…

The cake was quite interesting to say the least but it tasted delicious! Giorgia requested the same rainbow cake that I made for Bill’s birthday. Games included Barrel o’ Monkeys, Musical Chairs, Pass the Parcel and Animal Freeze. I didn’t do jungle-themed food but the food included the normal party stuff like mini pies and sausage rolls, fairy bread, cupcakes, chips, lollies, and cocktail frankfurts.

I’d say the day was a success! Giorgia had fun with her friends. She loved her gifts and everyone looked as though they had fun.

If I could do it again, I would have maybe created more of a jungle atmosphere in the garden but other than that, it was fun.

Happy birthday, Giorgia!

Giorgia Bear turned 9 today! She was still asleep when I got up this morning so I thought I’d duck down to the supermarket to buy cream (because I forgot to get it yesterday). When I got back, as soon as I unlocked the front door, she was standing there and squealed “It’s my birthday!!” LOL

We jumped onto my bed (kind of a tradition on everyone’s birthday) and she opened her gifts from us.

She was a LITTLE excited when she opened her first gift and saw that it was High School Musical 3 and even more excited when she unwrapped an iPod shuffle.

We’ve already watched HSM3 TWICE today! LOL

It’s a jungle out there!

Giorgia’s turning 9 soon and her birthday party this year is jungle-themed so we got us some jungle-themed party ware and goody bag treats.

I’m planning on making this really cute monkey banner that I found in one of my party books. I’ll share how I make them in another post.
