Am I on your blog roll?

*shuffles feet*

I screwed up! When moving things over from HH and changing a few things around here, I lost my blog roll.

So, if you have my button on your blog or have me on your blog roll (or would like to exchange links with me), PLEASE PLEASE leave a comment here with your blog link so I can add you.

Can you make your shopping basket all Australian?

Only Australian Groceries, Order groceries online and have them delivered anywhere. - Only Australian Groceries, Order groceries online and have them delivered anywhere._1239770463148 If you did what Mr Rudd asked and spent your stimulus package payments, chances are that you just sent all of that money overseas. I had an interesting email sent to me last week that said in part:

“If you spend that money at Kmart, all the money will go to China .
If you spend it on petrol it will go to the Arabs.
If you buy a car it will go to Japan .
If you purchase a computer or a slurpy it will go to India .
If you purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan .
And none of it will help the Australian economy.”

Australians need to buy products that are Australian made and owned. We need to support Australian companies because Australian companies:

  • Pay higher taxes in Australia than multinational companies.
  • Keep profits in Australia .
  • Are more likely to manufacture in Australia .
  • Are more likely to use Australian produce from Australian farmers.
  • Employ Australians.

What better way to start supporting Australian companies than buying from a site that ONLY sell Australian products. Do you know which brands are Australian? I thought I did until I did some further research, only to find that the brands I thought were Aussie brands aren’t anymore.

Only Australian Groceries sells ONLY AUSTRALIAN GROCERIES.

Need more reasons why to shop with Only Australian Groceries?

“You save money – because you only buy what you need ……no impulse buying at the supermarket.

You save money – because you don’t use petrol to drive to the shops

You save time – as you can shop at anytime of the day and you don’t have to carry heavy groceries home.

You can shop without your children asking you to buy extra items.

You can make a difference to Australia’s future by choosing to support Australian companies.”

Delivered to anywhere in Australia, and internationally as well.

I hate cords

SuperStock_1433R-948323 The power points in this house are in the stupidest (is that a word?) places which means that some furniture can’t be put close to the points resulting in extension cords and power blocks. Even the phone cord had to be run into William’s room because he has his PC in there and it isn’t wireless.

And it annoys me.

It really irks me seeing cords running along the wall. I think it looks really untidy and I would be in heaven if every single piece of electronic device was wireless. Making the computers and laptops wireless will be the easiest. I’ll be able to just set up the modem and the Linksys router near the phone outlet and not have to worry about going A over T!

With the other cords, I’m going to have to invest in those little clippy things that keep cords tidy.

System Mechanic (& giveaway)

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW FINISHED!!

sm-right-300dpi

Keep reading to find out how you can win a copy of System Mechanic.

I love it when things can fix themselves. I’m not that computer-savvy. I mean, I can do the basics and I can show you how to set up websites and blogs and I can show you how to use Paint Shop but when it comes to computer errors and registry problems and all that sort of stuff, I have NO IDEA!

So when I was given the chance to try System Mechanic, I was all for it. Especially since the computer that the kids use is running like I bought it in the dinosaur age!

Over 98% of PC slowdowns and problems are caused by faulty settings, clutter and fragmentation that are the result of normal PC use. System Mechanic automatically finds and repairs errors and fragmentation and cleans out clutter — so your PC operates smoothly, reliably, and up to 300% faster!

SM8-Main-ConsoleInstalling the software was simple. The dashboard that comes up when you first open the software gives you the option to “analyse now”. Once it finishes the analysis, you have the option of “repairing all problems” or to view the problems and deal with them individually.

I was ready to throw the kids’ PC out of the window. After turning the computer on, I was able to go turn the kettle on, go to the bathroom, put a load of washing on, make cup of tea and the darn thing would just be loading the desktop! But after running System Mechanic on it, the PC is nowhere as sluggish as it was.

SM8-PowerTools

You don’t need to be an expert!
With one click System Mechanic lets you repair and speed up your PC. Then it “silently” monitors your system, running needed repairs automatically to keep you at peak performance.

Each subscription allows to you run System Mechanic on up to three computers so you can make sure that all your computers are running properly.

Me V the inbox

cartoon Ah, my inbox. The one place where I waste a lot of time because I don’t have a “system” set up. Since the doctor suggested bed rest I prescribed myself couch rest today and am totally ignoring the packing that still needs to be done too weak to do anything else, I thought I’d get my inbox cleaned up and organised.

The idea is to not have too many folders and DO NOT have a folder named MISC because well, you know…

Quick Reply: These are the emails that will only take a couple minutes to reply but I don’t have the time to do it right then and there.

Needs Action: These are the emails that require me to do a bit of research first, or talk to someone or whatever.

Blog Comments: I reply to comments on my blog in my comments section. I use DISQUS which allows me to respond directly to my comment section.

PR/Giveaways: These are the emails that I receive from people interested in being mentioned on my blog.

Future Interest: For the emails that I don’t need to respond to but could be used in the near future, like the newsletter sent to me from the caravan park we were interested in staying at.

So with the folders all created and the emails shuffled around or dumped, I’m feeling a little more organised than I was about an hour ago when I was sent an email telling me that I hadn’t responded to something and to try and find it in my deleted folder meant going through over 1000+ emails *blush*

How do you organise your emails?
