2480BW~Welcome-To-The-Chaos-PostersAnyone who has been reading my blog long enough would remember me mentioning that I bought Anthea Turner’s book, How To Be A Perfect Housewife. You would have seen me have some sort of meltdown and start a new blog to chronicle my journey to being a perfect housewife and then you would have seen me come back to my senses and realise that that is just NOT going to happen.

The idea was not to become one of those 50’s housewives who are more like unpaid housekeepers, but more to keep our home neat and organised.

So I found it interesting today when I read Bec’s post, Mummy Martyrs. Go have a read. I’ll wait.

You’re back? OK, let’s go on…..

Bec’s question was

Do you run a perfect household or do you prefer to let the vacuuming wait while you go out for a coffee or pursue your own passions?

A lot of my friends often tell me that I am way more organised than they are or that my house is always tidy. Do they think that I run a perfect household? Hell, no! LOL Because they know that if they’re coming over to visit, they should call or ring to give me some notice so I can run around like a chook with no head and tidy up!

Bill will tell you that there have been times where the living room looks like a bomb has hit it but I’m dressed and ready to go out to lunch or somewhere nice to take photos.

I do take pride in our home but I don’t want to be known as just a housewife. I am my own person and I have no problem in ignoring the pile of laundry or crunchy carpets or the acne treatments left on the bathroom cabinet. If you ask me in the morning what’s going to be for dinner that evening, I probably won’t know but I will know when I’m scrounging around in the  freezer or having to run down to the supermarket!
