Dusting has to be my least favourite chore. I tend to leave the time between each dusting session too long and end up finding that I’ve become a dust bunny breeder.

Even fandangle dusters don’t excite me enough to dust as often as I should be doing it and if I could pay someone to just come in and dust for me, I would. I’d also pay the kids but then I’d have to come up with a really good excuse for using child labour.

So this is why it’s taken me {how long since we moved} this long to realise that my trusty old duster didn’t make the move with us – damn shame. But don’t think I haven’t dusted at all for 4 weeks, because I have. I’ve just been using a damp cloth which doesn’t work very well because it just spreads the dust around.

I figured that it was a bit early to start using the excuse that the cobwebs were Halloween decorations, so while I was at the supermarket this morning I checked out what they had in the way of dusters.

I found this little beauty…

Powerfibres_Duster

It’s a Vileda Powerfibres duster. The Vileda people say that it’s an electrostatic synthetic duster, with a soft grip handle, which attracts and removes dust with far less effort.

It works well. It did what it was meant to and with a few quick sweeps of my new magic wand, Chez Gray is now dust-free (for today).

But don’t use it as a tickle wand on the teenagers because they won’t find it as funny as you do.

Tell me about your dusting routine.
