Do you feel comfortable posing in front of a camera? I don’t. So I’ve been checking out the tips on “Perfect Pose”, an interactive video website that gives women practical tips to enhance and perfect their pose in photographs.

Being a woman with more curves than some, I learned that by putting my hands on my hips makes my shoulders look less rounded and elongates the body. Don’t be alarmed if you see future photos of me here with my hands on my hips all the time!

Plus size women’s brand Sara, an Australian fashion label, wants women to feel better about themselves and feel confident in front of the camera. It doesn’t matter how you look – it’s the way you hold yourself.

"One trick models often use is to present a ¾ pose to the camera, turn your head so that ¾ of your face is exposed to the camera, as opposed to a full frontal shot".
I'll be trying this trick for sure, as I always think my face looks fat in photos. In fact it would have been helpful to know this tip a month ago - I just had my photo taken with Eric Bana at a movie premiere, but I hate how I look in it! Should have stood with my face angled instead of fully forward!

If you're having your photo taken whilst sitting down don't cross your legs. You run the risk of making your calves look heavier and your hips wide. Instead, angle your legs to the side with your knees facing away from the camera. Keep you ankles together for leaner-looking legs.

Nothing worse than my hips looking even bigger!

Don't make your arms look too big by holding them against your body. Hands on hips or in pockets help your upper arms appear toned and slimmer.
I'll do anything to hide those tuckshop arms!

Standing up straight minimises the middle region and adds the illusion of height, making you look more slender.

Gotta luv looking slender...gonna try this one for sure..

I hate having my photo taken and even though I am told frequently that I have a lovely smile, whenever my photo is taken my mouth looks as if I have been eating sour grapes. I am going to try to smile just as the photo is taken and hope for better results

I have a very unproportioned body which I'm quite self conscious about. I'm small up top but large from the hips down. My worst part is my fat legs so the tip to keep my legs angled away from the camera and feet hip width apart to create a slimmer silhouette will really work for me.

Anything that reduces my muffin top , over my jeans has to be good LOL. I hope it works for the rear view too. ;)
