Giorgia, Annabelle and I grabbed the food colouring and the eggs that I boiled earlier and got set to do some egg dying.
I was planning to look for whiter eggs at the supermarket but I got talking to a friend about laptop memory while I was shopping and totally forgot about it. So I figured that if I use less diluted food colouring, the eggs should dye nicely anyway.
I found these shrink wrap things which are properly named “Happy Wraps egg decorations” at a little deli close to home. I wasn’t too sure how tricky they were going to be but I was reassured when one of my friends, Erin, said it was easy to do.
The idea is to place one of the wrappers around a boiled egg and placing it in boiling water for 3 seconds.
It was quick and easy and the girls found it fascinating how fast the shrink wrap shrunk!
