Ah, my inbox. The one place where I waste a lot of time because I don’t have a “system” set up. Since the doctor suggested bed rest I prescribed myself couch rest today and am totally ignoring the packing that still needs to be done too weak to do anything else, I thought I’d get my inbox cleaned up and organised.
The idea is to not have too many folders and DO NOT have a folder named MISC because well, you know…
Quick Reply: These are the emails that will only take a couple minutes to reply but I don’t have the time to do it right then and there.
Needs Action: These are the emails that require me to do a bit of research first, or talk to someone or whatever.
Blog Comments: I reply to comments on my blog in my comments section. I use DISQUS which allows me to respond directly to my comment section.
PR/Giveaways: These are the emails that I receive from people interested in being mentioned on my blog.
Future Interest: For the emails that I don’t need to respond to but could be used in the near future, like the newsletter sent to me from the caravan park we were interested in staying at.
So with the folders all created and the emails shuffled around or dumped, I’m feeling a little more organised than I was about an hour ago when I was sent an email telling me that I hadn’t responded to something and to try and find it in my deleted folder meant going through over 1000+ emails *blush*
How do you organise your emails?
