Baby’s gotta go!
With potty training on the brain at the moment, I googled to see what other potty training resources were available.
I came across the Fisher Price Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Gotta Go doll.
Sit her on the toilet and it will sound like she is “going”. She’ll talk about the process, and hum tunes, and says “I really have to go!” or sings “Pee pee in the potty!” and other phrases that will be amusing to a young child.
The self-contained toilet with no water means no mess, just fun! Unlike other “pee-pee dolls”, this one doesn’t require real water and real mess to provide realistic, interactive fun. When you place the doll on the toilet, the “water” in the toilet disappears, and the expected “potty waste” appears in it’ place. Your child can then flush the toilet and the “water” will reappear while the toilet makes a very realistic flushing sound. Wash the doll’s hands at the sink and you’ll hear realistic running water sounds. The realistic sounds and randomized, interactive phrases from the doll make a delightful stimulation for role playing.
Once the fun is finished, your child can simply lay the doll on her back. She’ll yawn, say she is “sleepy,” and the doll will enter a sleep mode. Move the doll to “wake” her up. She makes a yawning sound and is ready for play again.
She comes with her very own bathroom play set which includes a toilet, sink, towel and everything she needs to wash up and go.
Cute!

We interrupt this program….
….to bring you a potty training update.
I’m happy to say that the potty training reward chart is a success! Every time Annabelle uses the potty, she grabs her sticker chart and chooses a sticker to put up on her chart. She’s practically toilet trained through the day (although we haven’t ventured out of the house without a nappy yet).
At night time, she still wears a nappy but as soon as she wakes up she pulls off her nappy and goes straight to her potty.
If you’re potty training, or about to potty train, or know of someone potty training a baby/toddler, be sure to enter the potty training pack giveaway right here on this blog. Giveaway closes Feb 2.

Sixth photo
I was tagged by Farrah @ Wife & Mom Of 3 to do the sixth photo tag.
Here’s what you do……..
- Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.
- Go to the 6th Folder, then pick the 6th picture in that folder.
- Post that picture on your blog and the story that goes along with the picture.
- Tag 6 other people that you know or don’t know to do the same thing and leave a comment on their blog or an e-mail letting them know you chose them.
So here’s my Sixth Photo…
I was going to cheat and use the 5th or 7th photo in the folder because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to look at this photo while it stayed on the front page. But I decided I won’t cheat. I’ll just close my eyes LOL
This humungous hairy huntsman spider was minding his own business on a piece of wood that was laying on the ground in the back yard. William went to move the wood and only saw the spider when it tried to move out of the way. I already had my camera outside with me because I was taking photos of Bill and William putting up our pool so I passed it to Bill to take the photo of the spider because there was no way in hell that I was going anywhere near it!
Now, I tag:
Libby @ Life is a Journey Not A Destination; Jane @ Kidzarama; Tara @ Feels Like Home; Peta @ 7 Kids, 1 Washing Machine….; Kate @ Picklebums; Rachel @ A Juggling Mum.

Friends from way back!
It has been 20 years since I left high school (!) and with that, left a lot of my old school friends behind. Some of these girls I’ve known since we were 5 years old and starting kindy together! But thanks to facebook, I’ve been able to reconnect with a lot of my old friends and have a chance to catch up with them over lunch today.
We went to the Anchorage restaurant in the Boat Harbour Motel, Wollongong. The food was fabulous and the company was even better! It was just like no time had past. We chatted and laughed and took lots of photos to upload to facebook LOL
Thanks girls (and guys) for an awesome day today! Let’s not allow another 20 years to pass before we see each again!!

Spoiled Under-30s
(received this is my inbox today)
When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning….uphill…..barefoot. BOTH ways. Yadda yadda yadda.
And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they’ve got it!
But now that I’m over the ripe old age of thirty, I can’t help but look around and notice the youth of today.
You’ve got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don’t know how good you’ve got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn’t have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, We had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalogue!! There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter, with a pen! …Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!
There were no MP3’s or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ’d usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!
We didn’t have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that’s it! And we didn’t have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, Your mom, your boss, your Bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn’t know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!
We didn’t have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like ‘Space Invaders’ and ‘asteroids’. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your Imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!
You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday morning. Do you hear what I’m saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!
And we didn’t have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove … Imagine that!
That’s exactly what I’m talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You’re spoiled. You guys wouldn’t have lasted five minutes back in 1980!
Regards,
The over 30 Crowd
