What’s on the menu for Christmas?

Asking Bill and the kids what they wanted for Christmas lunch was a BIG mistake! If I was to make everything they wanted, I would have to start now and wouldn’t some out until Christmas morning!

So I told them that I will take their suggestions into consideration when I create the menu for our lunch but there is no way there will be FIVE different desserts otherwise we will all have to have Leptovox in our Christmas stockings!

Instead, I’m thinking prawns for entree, a traditional main of ham, chicken, roast potatoes, roast veggies and gravy and maybe a trifle, icecream and something else for dessert.

This Christmas will be the first time I've prepared the meal! We've always been at someone else's home; this year we're having Christmas lunch by ourselves. I'm keeping it simple: ham, potato salad, garden salad, and bread rolls, with cake (preferably chocolate fruit cake, if I can find one) and cream & icecream for dessert :)

we have a cold lunch of Ham, Pork, Chicken, lamb, Turkey, all sorts of salad and seafood. For desert we have a big variety of pavlova, tirimisu, choc mouse, pudding, choc cheesecake, red and green jelly cups, custard, icecream and more.
we have a pretty big family and not all of us like the same things so we have a large variety.
then we all get enought leftovers for lunch again on boxing day.

Hubby either likes to deep fry a turkey or roast a prime rib roast. This year I've made arrangements for all of us to go up to his aunt's house as that is where their final gift will be found!!! I'm sending my family on a scavenger hunt to find a family gift. I cannot say what it is at this point but I know that they will like it. LOL
