Giorgia likes to sleep in on the weekends (sometimes). But every weekend, no fail, the kids up the road are knocking at our door early, asking if she can come out to play.
This morning was no different. I answered the door and told them that she was still sleeping. It seemed like it wasn’t even 10 minutes after I closed the door, that they were knocking on the door again!
Annoyed, I told them that Giorgia will come out when she’s ready to play and they can stop knocking on my door all the time. One of the kids sarcastically says "OK, Tina".
I’ve brought my kids up to respect adults and not to be rude. Instead of telling their kids the right thing to do, the parents of these kids start ignoring me when I see them and just say that Giorgia isn’t allowed to play at their house anymore.
Monkey see, monkey do.
