Who agreed to a sleepover??!!

We have one more birthday party to get through this year and that is Madeline’s. She is turning 13! And some sill person (read: me) agreed to a sleepover with 7 guests. I don’t usually have a problem with sleepovers, but 8 moody, attitude-y (is that a word?), b!tchy, gossipy….I think you get the picture…LOL OK, the girls aren’t THAT bad!

So we have a girly girl sleepover planned. I found the cutest invitations – they’re shaped like a little girls in sleeping bags! And I found the cutest goody bags – they’re shaped as handbags. What I didn’t realise was how BIG they were going to be when put together! So I have to go buy more goodies!

I’ll share photos soon when I start putting everything together. The party isn’t until 19 Dec so we have a few weeks but I like to start getting things done so it’s not a mad rush at the end.

If you’ve ~~been victim~~ held a sleepover for teenage girls before and have some survival tips, I’m VERY interested in hearing them!

There's nothing to prepare you, hon. #1 thing - be prepared for one of the girls (probably not your own) to come down and sit by you in a crabby-sad-face and then you will find out that she's bored and/or the other girls are talking about someone she likes or doesn't like or they are putting on makeup and she thinks thats for kids or....

.... just be prepared. Ugh. There is no preparing when it comes to teens who still want to be girls deep down inside.

Trust me, though, you'll question doing it again next year!

What I have found, though, that makes a huge hit is "build your own ice cream sundae" instead of old-fashioned birthday cake. Get those waffle bowls and every ice cream topping you can think of (don't forget the whipped cream & cherries) and let them go at it...

caroline's need extra cash

They can be very funny/noisy when they all get together. We had a sleepover in the garden this summer and they all stayed in a large tent we put up for the occasion. At least weren't in the house:)

I was just talking to a friend about this! Her daughter is 10 and is having her first official slumber party for her b-day and my friend told her she could invite 5 friends. But you know how that goes....Sue told Jennifer who told Ashley who told Stephanie who told the entire class and now almost every girl is coming! My friend is flipping out!! So obviously I have no tips except to wish you the very best of luck! It'll actually probably be lots of fun (but a whole lot of work!)

I had a sleepover last year and this past year for my daughter. Really just have a lot planned incase. I found they wanted and didnt have enough time just to play. I had 2 movies and some crafts picked out to do. Next year it will be a spa /sleepover party.
Already thinking ahead!!!!!!!!
Have fun and dont sweat the small stuff . Just go with the flow.
