How many seats?

I was blog hopping today and came across a whole heap of “large family” blogs by mums with five or more children and it got me thinking about what their living rooms look like.

I mean, with so many kids they ideally would have a large lounge and a few arm chairs, right? We only have a 3 seater lounge and a 2 seater lounge and it works well for us because it’s not often that we’re all in the living room watching tv anyway. The kids have tv’s in their own bedrooms. If we are all congregating in the living room, cushions or bean bags get brought out if needed.

But these families with 8, 10 or even 15 kids…..do they have home theater furniture, their living room set up like a cinema? That would be pretty cool, I think! LOL

If you have a large family, what type of seating do you have in your living room?

A Juggling Mun

With 5 kids too, we have a 3 seater and 2 x 2 seaters. I really like the look of the home theater though, if only we had the space.....lol!

We have a standard 3, 2 and 1 seater lounges but the kids have beanbags they bring into the 'loungeroom' when we are all watching a movie together ( like the other night when we ordered Alvin and the Chipmunks on box office). We also have the kids 't.v' room where they have a 3 and 2 seater lounge for themselves.

I think that's how most people do it with beanbags and improvising. In the UK homes are much smaller and so most people would not have enough room for so much furniture.

I would love to have a big family!!! I guess if we do have a very large family, we'll gonna have to have a sofa customized or something;)

We only have a 2 seater and a 3 seater sofa, so when it's 'movie night' we get out an old double sofabed mattress and lay it on the floor. The children bring out their pillows and blankies and we make a mess with popcorn all over the living room.

We have 6 kids(and granted one doesn't really need a chair yet)and have a large corner lounge that seats about 6 people and another 2 seater lounge.The young children also have their own little fold out lounges for watching tv etc.They have their own televisions aswell so it's usually only when something good is on Austar or family dvd night that we are all in there together anyway.
