WFMW – Long Life Milk

I’ve started buying a box (12) of 1L UHT milk cartons to keep in the pantry.

I use the long life milk when I bake and cook. It doesn’t taste any different (otherwise my fussy 12yr old would have said something!)

And when we run out of fresh milk and don’t have a chance to run down to the corner store, we always have back up for cuppa’s with unexpected guests.

  • I've never heard of this? Is this powdered milk?

    I am constantly running out of milk ... I swear to God, I think my kids water the lawn with it.
  • We go through lots of milk too. This is why this works for me :)
    It's not powdered milk. It's just full cream milk in cartons that has
    something in it that makes it last longer. Sorry, don't know any other name
    for it :)

    I see it in the stores from time to time. I wondered if it tasted different but I hadn't thought about using it in baking. That is a good idea
  • I find that it does taste different when you drink it but you can't taste
    the difference when you use it in cooking or baking.
  • HA! I have started doing the EXACT same thing! I don't bake, but it's good to know there is some in back up if ya run out.
  • It's good for the times when you can't get down to the shop!
