I know that I’m not in as much pain as my sister would be right now after being in labour for so many hours yesterday and then having to have a C-section but I honestly woke up this morning feeling as though I had run a marathon.

My legs are so sore because I spent most of yesterday standing beside my sister and my arms are sore from assisting her when all the action started. I didn’t even realise until last night when I got home and had a shower that I had bruises on my arm where she was pushing against me with her foot!

I am SO proud of Penny! She did amazingly well when her contractions started and she got through a lot of them before she even asked for some pain relief. When I was at that stage, I was already asking for the happy gas and everything else they could give me so much so that DH was worried I’d end up in drug rehab! LOL He doesn’t have to worry about that now. It’s the alcohol rehab centre he’ll have to be calling because Jack Daniels drowns out the noises (KIDDING!, JUST KIDDING!)

Oh, hang on, I was telling you about Penelope!

Unfortunately things didn’t go as she planned because the baby had other ideas. After a good, long go of trying to have the baby naturally, the doctor intervened and realising the vacuum was also not working, a caesarean was inevitable.

But mother and baby are doing really well although I don’t know how Penny is going to go, having to stay in hospital for at least 7 days. She was determined not to do that if she had a natural birth but now she has no choice! But she’ll be mobbed by visitors so she won’t have a chance to get bored :)

So, that said, I’m off to wrap some pressies for Auntie Tina’s little princess and get the tribe ready so we can go visit the mama and bubba.

Photos are coming…..promise!
