Staying in the black
When DH and I first became a couple, we made the decision that I would stay home with our children and he would be the bread winner. This worked well for us when we had just 2 children until he was retrenched and found it difficult to find another job.
So, we had to reassess our situation and after doing some job searching myself, I worked for a few years as an assistant manager in a major home entertainment chain (which has since gone into liquidation). But after working for 3 or 4 years, I fell pregnant with our 3rd child and we swapped roles again.
I’ve been a stay home mum for 10 years now, with 2 more children and I would not change it again. I have vowed that I will be a full time mum until our youngest child starts primary school and after that I will work part time ensuring that I am home when they leave for school and home when they get back from school.
This is why I started doing freelance blogging. I can still be at home with/for the kiddos and still make some money to take some of the burden off DH.
I encourage mums to take a look at making your blog work for you. It’s well worth it
