The baby has a scottish accent!

We were laughing today because whenever we asked the baby a question where the answer was yes, she’d nod her head and say “aye” just like DH does.

So DH took advantage of this and started talking to her with his Scottish accent (which really only comes out when he’s talking to his relatives, or when he’s drunk…lol)

The kids always have a great time imitating him, especially when he says words like “werrums” (worms…you just got to imagine the “rolling R’s”) and booook (book, for those playing at home). Again, imagine a Scottish person saying “book”.

But, I digress.

I think he’s hoping that at least one of his children sound more like him instead of sounding like “kangas” LOL

Careful what you crap on about

People think that they can say anything on the internet while hiding behind their keyboard.

I’m sure you’ve heard this said before, many times. But it usually refers to people being abusive and flaming and the sort.

What irks me are the people who make themselves bigger and better than they are in real life. They make their lives sound perfect, their house 3 times bigger than what it is, their income triple or quadruple than what it is, etc etc etc.

They are only lying to themselves. People don’t care if you are renting your home, why pretend that you own it? People don’t care how much money you make….unless of course, you’re in the business of showing them how to make that sort of income.

I am who I am. We rent our home. It is a small home. I am a stay at home mum. My husband works part time due to a back injury he had a few years ago. We’re not rich but we are comfortable. I don’t feel the need to make you all think that each of my children have their own bedroom in our 8 bedroom, 4 bathroom, 3 storey home in the country *drools* I don’t feel the need to make you all think that my kids are perfect and the best-mannered children. I don’t feel the need to make you all think that my marriage to DH is always hunky-dory (hehe, always wanted to use that word in a post!)

I don’t use a “skinny photo” as my current avatar. I don’t pretend my face has no wrinkles or acne.

Stop the bullshit, people! I don’t care what you look like, how much money you have or how much you paid for your sofa.

And if you do still find that you need to create this fairytale life online, then you shouldn’t be surprised when people DON’T CARE in real life.

I need your help!

My sister is turning 30 at the end of September and she’s having a “P party” where all the guests need to dress up as something that begins with the letter P.

DD8 has already decided that she’s going as a “present” for her aunty so we’re going to decorate a cardboard box that she can wear as her costume. DH is going as a priest. We found a priest costume on eBay. All we have to do is find him a crucifix chain and an old bible.

The baby is going as a pumpkin. I bought the cutest pumpkin costume from a friend when I was still pregnant with the baby! She wore it on Halloween last year but it was too big so it fits her now :)

DD15 and DD12 don’t know what they are going as and DS16 has been googling to find some sort of villian or mythical being that begins with P.

As for myself, I don’t know! I’ve seen some great costumes on eBay but they would require me to do some quick weight loss and seeing that the party is like 6 weeks away, it’s very unlikely…lol

So, got some ideas as to what I could dress up as?
