DH got a new tattoo

My DH has a few tattoos. One on each of his shoulders, one on each of his forearms and one on the inside of his left arm.

Yesterday, he finally got the tattoo he’s wanted for awhile - a tribute to those who died for us.

  1. Tattoos aren’t very common here in the US, although i’m seeing more people get them. Is tattooing an “Australian” thing? Is it very common? And what is a common theme for them?

Your DH’s shoulder looks sore! Ow! lol

  2. I don’t think they are an Australian thing at all, but yes they are more common than they used to be. I hate them, and I wonder what many of the people defacing themselves in their teens or twenties will do when they grow up.

  3. There’s no common theme in tattoos. People get anything and everything tattooed on them. I have 5 little butterflies on the back of my shoulder which represents each of my children.

It’s becoming quite common for young people. It must be the “in” thing to do and I also wonder what they’ll all look like when they are old grannies and grandpas…lol

Thanks Ian for answering if it’s an Australian thing :)

  4. I love the tattoo. I shall also be getting one soon with the ANZAC’s in mind, I had many family members who were ANZAC’s.
I have a tattoo also, it is a unicorn it has meaning for me as I think most peoples tattoos do and yes I am an Aussie too.
