We’re back!
….and we’re totally exhausted! I drove back and the kids all fell asleep. DH would have to but the weather turned bad so he stayed awake to keep me company.
Our holiday was brilliant! The cabin we stayed in was really nice.
The first night there, the baby woke up about 4am so I was pacing the kitchen with her. I thought it was blowing a gale outside but because it was so quiet, it was the crashing waves on the beach that were making all the noise!
We went to Birdland Animal Park where the kids got to pat wombats and koalas and see lots of birds, kangaroos, deer, llamas and I held a snake! I was petrified!
We had family BBQ’s with my dad, stepmum, stepsister and her fiance, and my niece each night and yesterday, the last day, we went to Mogo Zoo.
We all got to hold this gigantic boa constrictor called “Long John Slither”. I HATE snakes but I feel really tough now…lol
(OK, just been corrected by DH who said that Long John Slither is not a boa constrictor. It is a Burmese python. Of course if it was a boa, it probably would have constricted us all…Duh!)
The kids had a ball. They also swam and played tennis at the resort. I have loads of photos to upload so when I get that done, I’ll share the favourite ones.
But it’s SO nice to be back. Home. sweet home!

I had a feeling whilst reading your blog iin preparation of going away for the weekend that you were heading to The Bay. I used to live there for 21 years & have seen it cha nge a lot in that time. I am interested (mainly from curiosity) in finding out which park you stayed at? Feel free to email me if you wish. I love going back home to visit. Much more than when I used to live there LOL

So glad you had fun! You deserve it.
I know that it’s difficult for you to get away for these short trips but is it worth it in the long run, or would longer ones be better for you and your large family?
