Wow, that does take me back. We had an old one sitting on the bottom shelf of a kitchen stand gathering dust, until a friend asked us for it about three years ago. And yet, I still think of those air pop machines as "new technology." Even when we used it, though, it was hard to give myself enough of a pep talk about health benefits to force down the dry, styrofoam-like results. Ah, the old days before microwave popcorn. It's an air popper too, so it's much healthier. But we always seem to pop in a bag of microwave popcorn. Needless to say, it's been even longer since we used jiffy pop.
