Need advice about message in a bottle

OK so I need some advice!

I bought these message in a bottle invitations for DD7’s Pirate Party and inside each bottle is the invite, an eye patch, a pirate ring, a skull & cross bones sticker and a little satchel of sand.

Now, my question is this:
Do I empty the little satchet of sand into the bottle or do I leave it sealed and left in the bottle as is?

DH seems to think that I should open the sand but I think I should.

What would you do?

  1. If it were me I’d take the sand out completely especially if you expect that the kids will be opening the bottles inside your house. If the sand is loose in the bottle it’s liable to end up on your floor, and if the packets are in the bottle their liable to be ripped open ending up on your floor. :-p

  2. I’m not worried about the sand going everywhere because these are the invitations so if the kids DO get sand everywhere, it will be in their own houses…*insert evil laugh*

  3. I’d open it to make it more realistic - especially if the kids are opening the bottles in their own homes…. heeheeheee!!!!

Now, you have to tell me….how do the kids get all the stuff out of the bottles?

  4. I’d open it, it makes it more ‘real’.

  5. Very nice msg about party invitations message in a bottle that will make them smile and be treasured for a lifetime.
