I think I got scammed

DS16: Mum, there’s something wrong with the modem
Me: My connection is working fine
DS16: That’s because your laptop is connected through the wireless router but mine is connected with a CAT5e and a blah blah blah
(this is where I phased out because it’s all mumbo jumbo to me)
Me: How much? *opening my purse*
DS16: How much you got? *cheeky grin on his face*
