Time for a short story
It usually takes me a while to get through a book because the only time I really take the time to read is when I jump into bed, right before I fall asleep! So lately I’ve taken to reading short stories. I came across a site today called beforeiamfamous.com, authored by Jenn Scott. One of the features of her site is Weekly Shorts where she encourages readers to submit a name, a gender and a genre that the reader enjoys. Jenn takes that information and writes a short story of 1000 words or so, linking back to the reader who’s suggestions she used.
I had a look at the list of stories and there is one called Dear God that caught my eye. Written as a letter to God, a heart-broken woman expresses her anger in God for taking her husband away from her many years ago. She describes the day as if it was yesterday. After living her life without her soul mate, and with the encouragement from her pastor to repent her sins and get ready for death, she writes the letter to tell God that she forgives him for taking her husband and that she is ready to die.
