But we don’t have a chimney!
I like to keep the magic of Santa alive during Christmas and it was all good in our old house because we had a fireplace with a chimney that Santa could come down.
But in this house there is no fireplace so we had to think of another way that Santa could come in on Christmas Eve, put the gifts under the tree and enjoy the cupcake and glass of milk that we always leave out for him.
So what will we do?
We’ll get ourselves a magic Santa key like this one or this one or maybe even make one like this!
Problem solved!

Pureau water (+ giveaway!)
Keep reading to find out how you can win!
I often buy bottled water when I’m out and I’m also guilty of reusing the bottle by refilling it with normal tap water. But when I read about the possibility of chemicals from the petroleum plastic bottles leaking into the water, I quickly stopped doing that.
So when Noble Beverages offered to send me a couple of SIGG bottles to try out, I jumped at the chance. SIGG bottles:
- are lightweight – similar to a thick plastic sports bottle
- have a patented internal lining which is baked on and won’t crack even if the bottle is dented
- have interchangeable tops and all the parts are replaceable
- are independently tested to prove 0% leaching and are free of harmful chemicals
- are recyclable.
I regularly buy bottled water but I hadn’t tried Noble’s Pureau, “the only Australian water that is 100% guaranteed to be completely free of all impurities including chlorine, bacteria, sodium (salt), fluoride, nitrates and other inorganic minerals”, before so I went down to the supermarket to buy some.
Packaged in environmentally friendly 5 and 10 litre casks, along with 600ml and 2 litre bottles, Pureau is one of the oldest packaged water companies in Australia. Recently, a NSW town was in the media for banning bottled water mainly to try to reduce landfill. A better alternative to those bottles is the Pureau cask which is the most environmentally friendly water packaging in Australia.
So the kids filled up their drink bottles and I filled up a SIGG bottle. The first thing I noticed was that the water tasted really clean and fresh-tasting. I think that people get used to drinking the water available to them and when you get to taste water that has been through a unique three-stage filtration method, you can REALLY taste the difference!
When I asked the kids what they thought, they told me:
- it tastes nicer
- it tastes clean
- you can tell it’s not Berkeley water (LOL)
Pureau is a national grocery brand and is available in all Coles, Woolworths, Franklins, IGAs, Foodland and selected health food stores. More information on Pureau is available on its website at: www.noblebeverages.com
Pureau is owned by Noble Beverages, an Australian company based in St Marys, Sydney.

Prepaid Christmas Hampers
Having one less thing to worry about at Christmas always helps because it’s such a crazy time of year!
So I take advantage of the pre-paid Christmas hampers that Chrisco and Castle offer. This year’s delivery will be the Traditional Hamper which has everything that we need for Christmas Day. My only problem is that I need to make room for it all in our freezer and pantry!
Being able to pay a small amount each fortnight throughout the year is so much better than having to fork out a couple hundred dollars in one hit for Christmas lunch!

Note to self: Renew license!
I received a letter from the RTA today reminding me to renew my driver’s license which was due 18 OCTOBER!
I had been driving with an expired license since then! OMG!!! I freaked out when I read the letter and have refused to get in the driver’s seat, and won’t be, until I can get to the RTA to renew it.
Bugger! That means that Bill will have to be the designated driver at the wedding on the weekend! LOL
